Rochester Public Transit updating routes beginning Jan. 16

Rochester Public Transit is preparing to roll out a number of changes to the city’s bus service later this month.

The changes, which take effect Jan. 16, are designed to improve the coverage and efficiency of transit operations, according to RPT.

“Timetables for all routes will be adjusted to improve on-time performance and to add more frequent service in some cases,” the transit service said in a news release.

By increasing the number of trips by 9.6 annually, RPT estimates it will be able to bring transit service to an additional 2,200 residents.

Details regarding the changes are available on the city’s website.
