Update: State patrol IDs Rochester man killed in I-90 crash

A young man from Rochester was killed in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 90 near Stewartville.

The crashed occurred around 3:10 p.m. two miles east of Highway 63.

 
 

The State Patrol reports the driver, 21-year-old Samuel Becker, was driving eastbound when his Chevy Cobalt went into a ditch and rolled several times.

Second fatal crash

The State Patrol responded to a second fatal crash just before noon Thursday on Highway 63, about three miles south of Stewartville.

According to the incident report, a semi was traveling southbound when it lost control on icy rounds and entered the northbound lanes of traffic. The semi collided with an oncoming pickup truck, killing the truck's driver.

The victim has been identified as 56-year-old Harold Bredesen of Racine, Minn. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

 
 

Highway 52 crash

A driver was seriously injured Thursday around 10 a.m. after colliding with a garbage truck on Highway 52 just south of Rochester. 

According to a report from KTTC, the driver was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the garbage truck was not injured.
