Thank you for eight great years!

Community members with In the City for Good, a grassroots group working to address the challenges of growth in Rochester, have teamed-up with AARP Minnesota to explore how Rochester can become more age-friendly. They have started uncovering issues that align the young and aging alike.

Among the brilliant neon tones of running shoes and technical outerwear at TerraLoco in Rochester, there’s another bright spot: Team USA triathlete, 36 year-old Michael Karau.

“People are surprised how fast we can streamline the process,” says flooring consultant Mike Hyde at Carpet One of Rochester. “You can narrow it down quite quickly if you ask the right questions.”

First Alliance Credit Union is a financial institution founded on the principle of people helping people, which stretches all the way back to the 1930s, when Rochester was just a farm town with a nice hospital.

The Assistive Tech Challenge is a pitch competition presented by Destination Medical Center’s Discovery Square in collaboration with The Arc Minnesota Southeast Region and the disABILITY Mayo Clinic Employee Resource Group to facilitate greater independence for individuals with disabilities and the daily challenges they face.
