How the Roosters bring 160 years of Rochester baseball full-circle

On this week’s edition of the Rundown, Isaac reports from the field — more specifically, Schmitt Field at the Olmsted County History Center, where the Rochester Roosters will play their 25th season of 1860-style base ball (two words) this summer. On summer weekends since 1997, players of all ages and skill levels have come to the field, donned the long-sleeve uniforms of the time, and played a version of the national pastime that has major differences from the modern game.

We'll bring you live sound from Thursday's game, plus the backstory on baseball's beginnings in Rochester — dating back to 1867 — and how this historic game helps players past their prime stay connected to the game they have loved for a lifetime.
