We need Michael Wojcik's experience and vision

We need Michael Wojcik's experience and vision to guide our city through the difficult times that lie ahead.

If you need reasons to vote for Michael, look around you. Notice the beauty of our city, the new streets with new sewers below, the transparency of city government meetings, the timely development of parks and bike trails, the boulevard trees, the airport improvements, the replacement of urban blight with landmark projects, and the visionary plans for the future.

Consider Michael's role in creating a new comprehensive plan, his work to bring broadband competition to Rochester, and his efforts to prevent costly infrastructure sprawl that the taxpayers cannot sustain. Be aware that Michael's resistance of urban sprawl buys him enemies among developers who would build out forever and can put a lot of money into the campaign of an opponent.

Michael's accessibility and responsiveness to his constituents is legendary — and is the reason his opponent's claim that he doesn't “listen” falls flat. Of course, what his opponent really objects to is that Michael didn't “see things his way” regarding the Berkman project. Michael had seen a similar project by the same developer in the Twin Cities, so he knew how high the quality of the project would be. The project added 600 public parking spaces and the traffic concerns of the Folwell neighborhood were addressed.

His opponent has criticized the summer's road and sewer projects as damaging businesses already damaged by the pandemic, but really what better time to do it? It certainly hasn't been construction that kept me out of local businesses.

In the years he has represented Ward 2, Michael has undoubtedly attended more of our neighborhood meetings and events than I have. He is extremely hardworking and takes his responsibilities seriously. Even people from other wards follow him on Facebook to see his video summaries of city council meetings.

Michael Wojcik has made Rochester a better place to live and will continue to do so. Vote Wojcik for Ward 2!
