(THE MED CITY BEAT) - Gas is available for below $2 a gallon at four area stations.

  • Sinclair Fuel Stop (205 6th St SW)
  • Hy-Vee (3650 3rd Ave NW)
  • Costco (2020 Commerce Dr NW)

  • Cenex (1740 3rd Ave SE)

The average price for a gallon of gas in Minnesota is about $2.06 a gallon, a five-year low, according to GasBuddy.com. The national average is $2.25 a gallon.

The low gas prices are a result of an increase in energy production in North America and a decline in demand for oil in developing economies like China.
