New coffee shop and bakery brewing in south Rochester

A new coffee shop and bakery is coming soon to south Rochester.

Roasted Bliss, which is relocating here from St. Charles, plans to begin offering up gourmet pastries and coffee in late March to early April. The shop will be located at 2550 South Broadway, next to Massage Envy.

Owners Ali Johnson and Denise Myers, two friends who met during the sixth grade at Willow Creek Middle School, say the expansion into Rochester is a natural fit for the business given how many customers already travel down and receive deliveries from the St. Charles shop.

In addition to made-from-scratch pastries, Roasted Bliss, they say, will be the only shop in Rochester to offer Peace Coffee, an organic, fair trade brand of coffee roasted in the Twin Cities. Johnson adds that while there is nothing wrong with the vibe of a typical mom-and-pop bakery, customers can also expect more of a modern feel inside their shop. “We like to keep things updated and cater to our customer’s needs,” she said.

Currently at the St. Charles location, Roasted Bliss goes beyond serving up products — they also offer programming, such as cake decorating, art classes, and other vendor-hosted classes “that allow individuals of every skill level to have a good time while enjoying a cup of coffee and a pastry.”

Roasted Bliss will join Due North Coffee Co. as the latest entries to the Med City’s coffee market. Due North began welcoming customers earlier this week at its drive-thru trailer outside of Air Insanity in southeast Rochester.
