Watch: Mayo Clinic docs perform 'God Bless America' for Indy 500 special

Drs. Elvis Francois and William Robinson of the Mayo Clinic delivered a heartwarming rendition of “God Bless America” in front of a national television audience on Sunday.

The tribute, recorded from the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, was featured as part of the “Indy 500 Special: Back Home Again.” The race itself had been scheduled for Sunday, but was postponed due to the pandemic.

The two “singing surgeons,” as they have become affectionately known, dedicated their performance to front line workers in the fight against Covid-19. They also made use of the national platform by raising awareness for The Fight Is In Us, a campaign to encourage survivors of Covid-19 to donate plasma for research into new treatments.

The full performance is embedded below.
