Rochester looking for volunteers to fill open board seats

Rochester looking for volunteers to fill open board seats

The City of Rochester is seeking applicants for several boards, commissions and committees. The deadline to apply is Monday, October 22.

  • Board of Appeals

  • Citizens Advisory on Transit

  • Energy Commission

  • Library Board

  • Mayo Civic Center Commission

  • Music Board

  • Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee (Transit/Safety and Health)

  • Planning and Zoning Commission

  • Rochester Public Utilities Board

The mayor is responsible for interviewing candidates and submitting his choices to the city council. Most committees meet about once a month and are responsible for making recommendations to city staff and the council.

The positions are volunteer based and offer no compensation. However, they do provide community members a hands-on experience in city government.

You can follow this link to apply for open positions. Citizens who do not have internet access may apply at the Rochester Public Library.
