Jul 28 Submissions for 'Rochester Is My Home' songwriting contest due Sunday

The Med City Beat, in partnership with North Coast Productions and Knowble Media, is pleased to announce a request for proposals for Rochester Is My Home, a songwriting competition for an original tune about the Med City.

We will be accepting submissions through July 31. The theme of the song must be about life in Rochester, though there are no specific requirements for genre or style. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of local music experts from various businesses and civic organizations.

The winning artist will be given the opportunity to work with North Coast Productions and Knowble Media to produce a professional recording and music video for their original song (combined value estimated at $3,500).

Our goal is simple: To produce an original, high-quality song by stimulating Rochester's robust and growing music community. We are intentionally leaving instructions for this competition vague with the hope that doing so leaves room for organic inspiration and creativity.

Every great city has an anthem. Now is the time we create ours.
