NBA veteran Humphries to hold basketball clinic at the Rochester YMCA

NBA veteran and former Minnesota Gophers standout Kris Humphries will return to our area next week for a one-day basketball workshop at the Rochester Area Family YMCA.

The clinic will be held on Friday, July 24th and will consist of basic drills, fundamentals and prizes. It's the fourth consecutive year Humphries, who grew up in Minnesota, has held the clinic at the YMCA.

"Humphries understands the importance of a healthy lifestyle and hopes to encourage kids to make good decisions by eating right and staying active," the organization said in a news release. "Kris carries the character and leadership traits needed from people in his position."

Humphries has played 11 seasons in the NBA for six different teams. The 6'9" power forward was part of the 2014-15 Wizards team that finished with its best regular season record since the 1978-79 season. He is perhaps best known for his highly-publicized 72-hour marriage to reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Costs are $5 for members and $10 for non-members. All children will meet Humphries and receive a t-shirt.
