Kutzky Park neighborhood hosting its first ever block party on Saturday

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - The Kutzky Park Neighborhood Association is holding its first ever block party on Saturday.

The family-friendly event will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. on 1st Street NW between 11th and 12 Avenues. There will be activities for children and beer from Forager Brewery for the adults. The event is open to the entire community.

A bean bag toss tournament will begin at 5 p.m. A number of local businesses have donated prizes for the winners. The entry fee is $20 for a team of two. All proceeds will go toward a community garden plot.

This is the first year the neighborhood association has held a summer celebration for the community. Organizers hope to create an "inclusive, friendly" environment.

Saturday's forecast calls for cloudy skies and temps in the upper 60s to lower 70s. The rain is not expected to continue past the morning hours.
