May 9 Lineup nearly set for the 2015 Down by the Riverside concert series

(THE MED CITY BEAT) - The lineup for this summer's Down by the Riverside concert series is nearly set.

Organizers announced this week that the Twin Cities blues group Sonny Knight & the Lakers will headline the Aug. 9 show, followed by the Brooklyn-based indie pop band Lucius on Aug. 16.

The following four shows had previously been announced:

July 12 - Fabulous Thunderbirds (blues rock)
July 19 - Firefall (soft rock)
July 26 - Eric Paslay (country)
Aug. 2 - Rochester Concert Band & Choir

The final week of the season will be announced May 14. The free concerts are held Sundays at 7 p.m. in Mayo Park, located behind the Mayo Civic Center in downtown Rochester.

Firefall

Live performance by Firefall on The Nashville Network's "Nashville Now" television show hosted by legendary Nashville disc jockey Ralph Emery. Firefall was formed in Boulder, Colorado in 1974 and founded by Rick Roberts, who had been a member of the "Flying Burrito Brothers", and Jock Bartley, who had played in Gram Parsons' backing band and also was in "Zephyr", replacing Tommy Bolin ("T-Rex").
